I think the WG runners sits close/on to the frame rail on the mk3

but thats it right?

I think it doens't fit the BIC mounts if i'm correct?

im not sure.. i ahve the stryder manifold so cant say for sure..

the wastegate flange is real close to the motor mount.i shouldn't hit with a solid mount,but will most likely hit with a stock mount.

The original manifold, and what is available today is 2 different things.

Look at lans post, he was the last one to install one, of the china style.

hrm yeah so if someone wants to give me the changes or tell me I can email them to the china man. he sells the manifolds for like 250 shipped!

thats badass for that manifold, i hope trev doesnt mind. i met him irl since hes in my hometown and hes a pretty cool guy, wish i was back home so i could set up a cruise with the group

here is what I did to a customers China Manifold.... Same as the above pic but I angled it toward the block more.... this is before it went for coating

I didn't have any problems getting it onto the car. But it does hit the frame rail. And I changed the wg flange for a tail 40mm which does sit very close to the engine mount. I would also recommened shorter studs. The lower nuts are a pain in the ass to get on and on one or two runners the studs actually touch.

I know how to fix...


get a 2JZ block and raise the head 1 inch. You'll have clearance for a 38mm tial wastegate....(my setup) :biggrin:


All you really have to do is chop off the old flange, and weld a new one, angled more parallel to the firewall. Attach the flange in a manner that would make the wastegate gases exit more towards the back (with no w/g attached).
