hey here are the pics im talkin about.... the element is fuzzy i think it cleaned up the air coming in pretty well.... on the back of the filter it was soooo clean... the front of the filter is dirty as helll.... used it for about three years already... the back of the filter is so clean compared to the regular hks filter element. check it out.... supposedly this filter flows way better than hks' reg filter... WHO ELSE IS USING THIS?? been using this for 3 years on my 7m and no problems... but now i got a 1jz dont wana do anything risky.... but im gonna stick with this filter... seems to work well.

is that sponge inside,
anyways whatever works for you
some people never learn
yes hks makes good stuff but filters is not one of them
THE PRINCE HAS SPOKEN

im with prince on this one. That looks like a filter out of a lawn mower...
long story short:

Foam type filters filter the best, flow the worst

Cotton Gauge type filters (such as K&N) don't filter that well, but flow the best

I have said it before and I'll say it again.

I think most would agree that the ITG filters are foam. The ITG filter, and most likely the Amsoil foam filter, will out filter and out flow all.
Hehe weird... Ive got that filter, exact same one. Looks like a HKS power flow to me, atleast thats what i thought it was.

Fatboy, thats weird... I always heard it was the other way around. Remember the hks filters nick name.... super dirt flow... hehe :).
I keep hearing this ITG and AMSOIL OUTFLOW AND OUT FILTER ALL mantra over and over again in different threads, but after trying a few searches for exact flow data from someone other than hte manufacturers, I have yet to find a test showing flow per square inches of filter, nor do I see any particle capture tests. I'm not saying you're wrong, and these may in fact be the be all and end all of filters, but where are the numbers? Without the hard facts, these blanket statements are about as useful as pissing into the wind...

no. they flow the best, filter the worst
this filter is soft... i would think its easier to get air in this than a hard k&n filter..... i've seen some other filters in action..... the hks does get dirtier faster than other filters..... but doesnt that make u feel its doings its job???

Good response. I am trying to stop "pointing it out" but everybody seems to think that K&N and Apexi and other aftermarket (EX: HKS TRF ETC) are the best filters available. I REALLY don't think they are.

Talk with mcdmotorsports (OR mdcmotorsports) about ITG. Ask ITG for some flow/filtrartion tests etc.

Maybe somebody would like to purchase a bunch of filters and do some flow/filtration tests.

I would be confident to say that ITG will out flow and out filter any filter.

The only reason that I say that Amsoil would be comparable to ITG is because an Amsoil dealer mentioned similar characteristics to me.

I have no documentation to provide about any of this, at the moment. BUT ... if I can atleast help people to realize/ponder that ITG is better, maybe they will research it and find it out for themselves. <---Better than nothing.

Best regards.
