There is a gasket that is about two and a half inches in diameter and very thick. It came with my downpipe and I believe it goes between the downpipe and the y-pipe can anyone back me up on this before I try and install it like so. Also how did you get it to stay in place? There doesn't seem to be a factory gasket at all?

The factory gasket is a round disc that is set inside the top flange of the stock downpipe.. Pretty easy to miss as they get old and end up looking like its just part of the flange. You gasket should have 3 holes, push the gasket up into place around the downpipe studs and let it hang at a slight angle so it catches the threads on the studs.. Then simply position your downpipe and bolt it up.
