TT 1UZ Supra (56k safe, linked pics)

Gday guys. There has been lots of talk of tt'ing a 1UZ in a Supra, but there really hasnt been much to show for it all. So my father decided that he'd take the plunge, and dropped his built 1UZ into his supra (mated to the 6speed), and proceeding bolt on the twins. Im proud to say that this car has never been in a shop, and all the manifolds, intercooler piping, radiator pipes, engine work, etc, was done by him. I wont go into details of the build, Im sure he will reveal all when he is ready (he is a member here). I cant wait to see what the powerband will be like.

Well, here are some pics, should look pretty nice when its all finished off and tidied up.

wow sweet. I know you don't want to share details but is motor fully built? Those puppies are not known to have strong stock internals.

1uz is a very strong motor. rods are very beefy. pistons are the weak link at about 600hp.

The preliminary pictures look great. A couple of questions.

Was the A/C retained?

Will both headlights fit in the final version?

What EMS will your pops be using?

Again, great work Vassilli,

Eric

Adapter plate, and custom flywheel at the very least. We have adapter plates and flywheel/clutch packages already in production for the swap.

So in short, one of these clutch/flywheels:

And one of these adapter plates:

This is his track car, so a/c and headlights have been removed. He is running the Autronics system, as he did with the 2jz.

kingerm: Peak power wasnt really what he was chasing here. Keeping the 2j on boost on the tighter tracks with the gt4245 required a fair bit of effort, so this should help flatten out the powerband and make it a bit easier to drive. So yeah, hopefully about 800rwhp, but we will see.

NinetyFiveNA: Yeah, they are built a lot stronger then they seem to get credit for. When we were dismantling the 1UZ, dad was impressed by how beefy everything was. We should also save ~60kg with the 1uz, from the rough weighup we did, so its going to help with weight distibution too :) .

Suprasanity: 4L

Now its just a case of doing the little bits and pieces, a little bit of wiring to do, a few other bits and pieces, and it should be right to go. Considering we only started this swap 5 weeks ago, and only really have time to work on it over the weekends, its coming along well. Im just looking forward to hearing it....

Ill see if Dad is keen to start chiming in yet.

Edit: Oh, and a big "Thank You" for all the compliments guys, I'm sure my father appreciates them just as much I do for the bits and pieces that I've done on the project. You guys have some absolutely gorgeous Supras, so it means a lot.

Question no doubt on the minds of some, the New 5.7 litre toyota V8 in the new Tundra's...will this adpater and flywheel work with it? I'm eyeing swapping the new 350 into a Tacoma...will spank my old 2jz swap!
