Can anyone tell me some of the differences between a PT52 and the PT61? I am trying to decide on which turbo to go with but dont know any of the differences between the 2! I am aiming for approx 500rwhp. Any info or comparisons would be much appreciated.

are u a stick or auto ?
PT52 High-10 Sec.
max boost- 600hp and it hits full boost at 3800rpm
all i know about the
PT61 is the max boost is somewhere around 700..

i decided to go with the pt52 instead for now .

I think its 320-340rwhp!

The PT61 has a 61mm GT series compressor wheel, and P-trim exhaust wheel.

The PT52 has a 60-1 compressor wheel, and a T350 exhaust wheel.

so if i were to run this turbo on a stock auto tranny, with a barebones kit...just enough to run a turbo....would it still be too much for the tranny. how low can you keep the boost? can you boost only to 5psi or so?

Im runnin auto too .. i would keep it at 5psi or so if i were u .. it will slip if u crank up to high boost and fail

my advice to u is .............

SAVE UP FOR TRANNY UPGRADE

Just FYI guys, my SP built auto tranny and torque converter are for sale. I'm changing to a GM tranny. This trans still works flawlessly, converter stalls to ~3500 with the big turbo, 3800 with the SP63. It was $4100 for the pair new. Will sell for 1/2 of that.

It seems to vary a bit. I ran 12 psi on my stock auto for some time, but Kyle can't seem to run even 6psi on his without it slipping. I suppose the condition of the tranny is the culprit.
