Turbo effect on stock acceleration?

Say you put a turbo on an NA car, a corvette for example. Will the turbo lag affect the cars acceleration/ power band negatively? What about the power curve, if put on the dyno, would the turbo increase or maintain power on all points of the curve, or would the bottom end lose some power?
Thanks

Well if you put a turbo on a Corvette, assuming its not huge there would be very little lag at all due to the higher cid of the vette's motor. Also, unless you lower the compression, which you would probably have to do to run higher boost, you wouldnt lost much of anything on the low end, and even if you lowered the compression, the lose would be minimal compared to the increase once it did make boost

Thanks, that helps....., i was looking into a turbo/twin turbo kit for the C-5 and was unsure of what it may do to the bottom end power. Thanks for clearing that up.

Blsupra, you used to race with Larocca? I have a few friends that have modified mustangs. One used to take his car to the Briante's, now he goes to Turbo People, the Spetter's are putting turbos in it. What did you have on the drag mustang? a procharger?
