Well sorta anyway...
Drove it into the shop about 8:30 this morning and started tearing her down. Everything bolted up pretty well. Had to make some super generic-billybob ******* inter cooler piping up.(I'd like to thank home depot and PVC for helping me out) Anyway about 4:30 got here started up(no exhaust yet-just a partial part of an hks dp) sounded good(read loud) no oil leaks-took her out for a spin-nothing no boost(no boost gauge either but I could tell) Pulled her back in the shop-threw it up on the lift and started looking around. Best I could find was the wastegate actuator bracket was bent slightly and possibly holding it open(had this happen on my mk3 once)bent that back and took her out again-started buiding boost started going fast and boom-blew off one of my ic clamps(the most pita one to blow off) Got it running on the side of the road and limped her back the shop. Examined the hose and decided to call it a night. Will have a futher report tommorow once I get that hose fixed. BTW The mk2 is not an easy car to run ic pipes on-had to do a little "modifing" Hopefully it will stay running for a little while tomorrow so I can get a feel for it. Have a good one.................
It is now It started life as a regular old 6mge I got from a local importer. I saw your post asking about 6m prices on the mk2 list-I paid 800.00 for mine. It had every gasket(inc. valve seals) execpt the headgasket changed out on it and came with a brand new oil pump and the correct oil pan to fit it in the mk2. Have fun!
