Does anybody have a recommendation for a turbo for me?

I have a stock 7m-gte engine with intake and exhaust done.

I made the mistake of buying a ssautocrome turbo off of ebay with not that much research.

So please help me! thanx

umm what kinda turbo is it? and what issues have been had with them?? because....
if its a t3/t4 one you should be fine, a friend has one he ran on his teg for a while with no issues at all, but then he upgraded to a real garrett t3/t4 but while runing that one off ebay it ran just fine.

I've been told many times one this forum that the t3/t4 won't fit my manifold, and the external wastegate it has won't work, and the BOV and dumptube won't work either

and with my stock ct-26, its burning oil when it idles...

the easiest way to get a upgraded turbo in there is to have your turbo rebuilt by a specialist that can machine and modift it for bigger wheels. it will bolt in exactly like stock, and offer more flow. you wont be able to turn the boost up without soem other upgrades, and you might hit fuel cutout. after you get that style of turbo you can get a Lexus AFM and 550cc injectors, bolt them in and be good for a good bit of power.

first i would say get Lex AFM, 550s, AFPR, Walbro FP, fuel controller, and then FMIC and BOV...u should be fine with those...no need to spend the big bucks on the turbo just yet cuz u dont have enough supporting mods to get the full use out of it

supragino hit it on the head, you still got more in the stocker, plus u wouldnt be able to run shit worth of boost on a upgraded turbo.

if you want one cause it burning oil, just pick up another stock for around 100-200

Lex AFM, 550s, AFPR, Walbro FP, fuel controller is the most tpyical route to go, probably need some kind of mbc or ebc to control the boost. so yah if went upgraded ct that wouldnt be to bad, if your upgrading go with that. read up man, check out the mk3 faq like i said

This guy is being hit from all directions with suggestions that exclude the big picture.

I asked my 16 year old boy what he'd do. Answer: "I'm a teenager... so, whatever costs the least."

Best answer for Chandley if he's really 17: Rebuild to stock specs, or replace with stock turbo. Go ahead & put in a boost controller if you want more boost, but keep the car under fuel cut until you can afford to go to the next step, which is substantial.

Next step? Larger IC, larger injectors, fuel management*, then a larger turbo. And let's not forget the clutch!

Good luck!

*edit: this includes instrumentation, aftermarket boost gauge & wideband O2 to monitor AFs, at the least.

Okay, keep the suggestions going... but the idea I'm getting now is just to go with the upgraded ct-26 with the Lexus AFM, 550cc injectors, and fuel pressure regulator for now. and I have a brand new clutch in there so I should be fine right?

Now as for what to tell my local turbo shop what I want.... any suggestions.
