I spun out my car and it went side ways and made a half rotation right and then I tried to turn it the other way it went sidways to the left into the other opposite lane, I think i made at least 2 full rotations. cant really remember. scared the sh!t out of me. the tires were sreatching. and i thought i was going to hit the side of the hill. I ended up in the middle of a 4 lane road with 2 directions. I thought i bent my rims inwards. then the car stopped. i pressed on the gas to see if it could run it didnt. then i started it up again. this happened because i took a turn too fast while it was still wet. luckly there was no cars coming in either direction. guys turns at high speeds are very deadly. i could have died or killed doing so. lesson that i have learned the hard way and I got a second chance.

yeah and if you want to play, make sure you have plenty of room to run-off. Example: I bought new tires for the mr2 today, but it would have been a shame if the old ones weren't completely corded before getting rid of them, so I went out and was having fun sliding around. I slide around somewhat frequently, but I still looped it 4 or 5 times. IMHO, if you never exceed the limit then you don't really know where it is... And as long as you don't run into any curbs/embankments/cars you're golden 8)

This is why I cannot recommend driving schools highly enough. A couple days learning to drive your car at speed with an instructor is worth WAY more than any amount of $$$ you could spend on your car. Get in touch w/ the local BMW or Porsche Club in your area - they usually put on good schools. Check www.drivingevents.com too for lots of info.

Well, it's good to hear that you were okay. Last night, I can not say the same for this Mustang driver. He or she shot past me on the freeway on ramp, doing about 80 to a 100mph and as he or she was going around the curve -- the Mustang started fishtailing, hit the curb and then short into the other side of the road and disappeared into the bushes and the dark below. All these took place in about 3 seconds time. There was no sign of easing off on the gas, as if his or her foot was stuck to it. An hour later, when I was at home, I decided to call CHP, thinking that he or she may be hurt and nobody knew he or she was there in the bushes out in the cold and wet. This morning when I drove by -- I can see the red roof of the Mustang on the ditch below. It made a new trail and went through a fence and others. This is a reminder to us guys to be safe and be in control of what we are doing.

That's why you pull over on the highway where they have phones every x amount of miles.

Seriously, I would have done the best I could to help that person ASAP.

I did the same shit about a year ago, took a turn to fast because i was following a Galant VR4, did the same thing you do, except i had traffic and dumbasses were still coming at me while my car had stopped facing traffic, luckly she was still running, just slaped it back in gear and drove off, later on the VR4 told me I said AWD... that bastard, aight peace :wtf:

i agree that you have to overstep the car's limits in order to know where they are, but you need to do it safely. Autocrossing a car will teach you so much about your car and yourself as a driver. Possibly the best $20-$50 you will spend that year no matter what mods you do to your car. Consider it a go-fast mod for yourself that you can use in any car. Turns are not bad, stupid people are the problem. If you knew the limits of your car, you would have lightened up on the throttle going into that turn and taken the slippery conditions into account and would have driven away from that just like any other turn. Seriously, think before you do stupid shit like that, and you'll be driving your supra for a long time.

Oopps, sorry guys that I didn't live up to your great expectations!!! We were all merging into the Freeway. The best I could do was to call CHP when I got home.

My point guys -- was to drive safely and to stay in control of your car. If you can't, then you are liable to hurt yourself or even worse -- hurt others. The Mustang driver shot past me, like he was "pissed" at the world. I heard him coming well before he shot past me, even though it was rainy, wet and dark. On a hindsight, I think I'm fortune that I was not in his way -- it could have a disaster??

Cheers,
Ti

One night I was at Wendy's about a year ago just talkin' with my freinds, and out of nowhere, I heard this screeching, looked up, and saw a firebird spinning out of control. He probably spun about three times, hit the sidewalk as he was facing oncoming traffic, and managed to spin around so he was facing the right way. In the process, he managed to bend one of those poles next to a tree all the way down, tear a big divot in the grass, break one of the wheels . . . all this . . . to impress the girl that was in the car with him. How do you think she felt? I didn't even know she was in the car until she finally managed to figure out what happened, and get it together enough to be able to get out of the car about 15 minutes after it happened balling her eyes out. Even though it was a Firebird, I about cried, cause anyone that treats a car like that before they discover the limits of the car, doesn't deserve to drive it, no offense.

Maybe that's just my opinion.
