Well that's what I think is happening unless somebody can suggest otherwise?, if I drive for any more than a couple of hours, or lots of stop start traffic driving the pumps can start to whine a bit, shortly after my afr's are all over the place and the car is hard to drive, feels dead off boost and misfires.

I put my hand on the fuel filter under the car and it seems very hot to me.

If i let the car cool down or put fresh fuel in it everything goes back to normal.

I was thinking of getting my mapper to wire in the pumps so just the one is running for any off boost driving, see if this cures the problem.

Anyone else had this problem with twin in tank 044's?

Regards Jamie.

well lets start with this, have you checked to make sure the filter socks are, one, not dirty or clogged, and two, are not getting sucked up into the pump. next, how about the actual fuel pressure. do you have an in cockpit gauge? are you loosing pressure during these times? this could also be a FPR problem. there was a thread up about aeromotives acting strange when they got warm. its just another idea. i would also check the voltage to the pump/s at these times and see if they are even seeing the proper voltage. what about fuel level? have you noticed this happening no matter the level, or does it act up when the fuel level is low? these are a few things on my mind....

Its a new set up, only done about a 1000 miles now, i pulled the pumps last week and all looked good.

Fuel pressure is being monitored by the ecu but no gauge in the car, i will see if we can see anything on the logs.

It happens no matter the fuel level, only happened twice now, once at 70% full (Dash2 display) and the other time 30% full, i put fresh fuel in this time and the car ran perfect right away.

I got the same problem... i have 3 pumps... the car was mapped with hot fuel, so when it is cold it runs super rich... i need to drive for 30 minutes before the car feels normal. I will remap the car with only 2 pumps...

I've had this happen to me once, but it was a combination stop and go about 1/4 tank of fuel and stomped on it to pull out and felt dead. Pumps were pretty noisy at the time. I've been daily driving the car for a few months now since I put everything together.

I haven't had any issues with mine since I fixed the fuel sock issue. I can't even hear my pumps when I turn off the radio and roll the windows up.

If you can't stage the pump, put some return and feed fuel coolers, they aren't expensive, no moving parts. If your fuel filter is getting that hot, it would be nice to have something with surface area to dissipate right?

I had the exact same problem , i took the socks off and what do you know no more problems . Those Jay racing socks IMO are no good for these pumps under WOT.

Are all you guys running both pumps all the time or just the one for off boost as SP mention? I think this is the way we are going to go now.
Mine run all the time. I'll have to check my fuel filters one day after a long drive to see if they're hot. I'll probably get a cooler placed in there. Wheres the best place to put it?

I consider this a common issue with supra owners. I ran into this same problem and since running my setup with staged pumps like SP mentioned my problems all but went away.

I'm running two new factory denso's.
