Boris Johnson could be jailed if he does not delay Brexit, says ex-prosecutions chief
Boris Johnson could be jailed if he does not delay Brexit, according to the ex-director of public prosecutions.

Lord MacDonald said if the prime minister did not comply with a new law compelling him to extend the October 31 deadline he could be in trouble.

MPs in Westminster, including more than 20 now-sacked Conservative rebels, voted in favour of a bill designed to prevent a no-deal Brexit, which has since been passed by the Lords and is due to pass into law on Monday.

But Mr Johnson reportedly told Tory members in a letter on Friday he was willing to ignore the legislation, writing: “They just passed a law that would force me to beg Brussels for an extension to the Brexit deadline.

“This is something I will never do.”

Lord MacDonald said Mr Johnson could find himself in a spot of bother if he ignored a court order saying ‘the law should be followed’.

He told Sky News: "A refusal in the face of that would amount to contempt of court which could find that person in prison.”

If he does go to jail there'll be no one to ask for an extension, and a general election will likely be forced even though parliament voted against it. There is a chance that the Queen could refuse royal assent to the law demanding an extension though.

He won't be imprisoned, this is pure shit stirring to ramp up and inflame the militant groups I mentioned above.

The main news channels, BBC, ITV and Channel 4 are showing their true colours in they way they are twisting and taking pretty much everything he says completely out of context. Placing anyone who agrees or allies with him with under the same umbrella as the far right. They do it to Nigel Farage and Donald trump all the time.

It is sad to see how far left leaning and how extreme left the UK really is. Until the vote there was always an underlying current but no one knew what it was.

BBC2 dedicated a whole 1 hour documentary to defending George Soros last Sunday. Cringe-worthy stuff. Of course a publicly owned TV station dedicating a whole 1 hour to defending him is bound to change people's minds.
