While pondering over an ultra-robust single-disk clutch for the mkiv, a friend and I got in touch with Clutch Specialties. They agreed to build us a clutch that should handle 800+rwhp without trouble, and we're working it now. I'll post again after we have the clutch broken in:

^Count 'em ... 6 drive straps!!!!

^ Billet rivets!

The clutch disk is iron-based material, and should hold up better than carbon and/or kevlar.

After my stock pressure plate in my Integra GSR broke, I bought Clutch Specialties clutch disc and plate. It's been a very nice clutch for the 2 years I've had it.

I'd be concerned about how much the disc weighs... The Synchro's were developed with a specific weight clutch disc in mind and this thing could add a considerable amount of weight to it. The more the clutch disc weighs, the more difficult the job of the synchros to match speed on a shift.
