ther is a vacume sensor under the intake manifold right behind the alternator its bolted to the second bolt on the bottom side of the manifold.

whats it purpose and whats it called?

price if anyone knows it

I believe thats the VSV for the Fuel Pressure Regulator... aight peace

The one closest to the starter is the vsv for the EGR. The one closest to the front of the engine is the FPR. I just replaced both last fall and got them from Jeff at Champion Toyota Houston. I can get the price later for you.

I'm interested in this as well. The little cylinder on the end of this - is it just some kind of filter, or is it critical? Mine was broken off. I discovered the little cylinder the other day when I pulled off my lower engine shield, it was stuck on there, buried in the built up greasy layer from leaking oil over many years. :)

its a filter, and both of mine are broken off.....:mad:

would it be a bad thing to simply plug the fpr straight into the manifold for a vacuum reading and not through a vsv. What operates that vsv?
