I was planning on replacing my valve stem seals without taking my head off, by using the rope trick. Is it possible to replace the valves also or do I need to take the head off?

seals are on the top and are accessable... valves are on the bottom. You definately need to take the head off to replace them.

i guess technically speaking it is POSSIBLE to get the valves out without taking the head off the motor, but you would have to disassemble the entire bottom end, lol... lets stick to taking the head off, its really simple with proper tools and time. do a leakdown on the motor and if the valves arent leaking down dont bother, you wont gain anything by replacing valves that are sealing already. only reason to replace valves if if they are bent or are sticking due to carbon buildup.
