Anyone have, or have any info on, the Veilside Titanium exhaust? It looks like a 3.5" full titanium system that supposedly weighs less than 10 pounds - priced at around $800. That sounds promising for those of us trying to save as much weight as possible. Here's the link:

if you try the search under veilside titanium you will find the info your looking for...only bad thing is the price now went up. The $925 was an introductory price. It is no longer $925.00

I think the $925 price tag is relatively cheap considering that the thing is made out of titanium.:eek:And you gotta admit that 10lbs is pretty impressive! I don't know about you guys, but if I was gonna spend anywhere in the neighborhood of 700-800 dollars, I'd kick in the few extra bucks for a titanium exhaust. Does anyone know how it sounds? Thats the only drawback that it may have. ...oh and also, what kind of hp gain are you expected to get with it?

I wonder why they don't make exhausts out of aluminum? Seems like it would be a lot cheaper than Ti, and light.

I'm also interested in this exhaust, mine looks like it might rust out pretty soon (and its heavy anyways, GReddy SP).

Aluminum is to soft. High speed bump='s crimped exhaust. Plus it does no do well with prolonged heat exposure and heat cycling.

I think you would need a real specialist to weld a s/s muffler to a titanium pipe. Think twice before you cut it.

You cannot weld stainless steel to Titanium. HKS has stainless steel piping that is clamped onto their Ti canister. Thier Universal Titanium has a stainless steel piece riveted to the canister.

Also welding Ti must be done in an oxygen free environment. it's a bitch to work with...

Call Chris Bergman at Horsepower Freaks I just ordered mine yesterday. Shipping is a bitch since it's all one piece but it's Ti for less than the HKS Ti. With me at BPU and happy I'm sure the difference in half of inch won't make me anymore hp.

Now that SP Engineering has sold all of thier inventory, i've got 5 set aside for retail only right now. It will be here in 2 weeks. Preorders require a 50% deposit. Call VeilSide to order...right now the price is $925.00. I don't know the exact time or date when it's going up. But it's definatly going up in price, any orders placed before the price goes up will be honored at the price sold when the deposit was placed.

If you want quiet, stick with stock. Any upgrade will require a sacrifice of something down the line. Its not considerably loud though, the piping is 3.5". So it's definetly streetable.

I was of course wanting a comparison to other aftermarket exhausts. BTW, my GReddy SP IS as quiet as stock.

i've got 4 available next week...

fitment was good, sound is good...just ask Johnny Walker.

(again it sounds like the HKS Super Dragger)...ask Johnny Walker

Performance is good...finally ask Johnny Walker =)

He's someone independent that has the exhaust on his car, and had it dyno tested by SP Engineering.
