I got my car dynoed and tuned again and it again only made 325rwhp and 258rwtq...the car is a 1997 tt auto with full bpu+ with 106000 miles on it...we checked everything...the motor is fine and so are the turbos and the car runs really smooth...why would it only put down that much? also the boost was set at 16-17 pounds for that run...the guy at the shop also said that i needed a fuel pump so i can turn the boost up because the car was running way to lean at high rpms...i dont know what to think but i just dont think it adds up. i told him some bpus are making 400 and up at the wheels and he said becuase mine was auto is why i dont have that much power...what do you think?

you don't need a new fuel pump... something else is the issue... sounds like it's in the tuning.

engine check light was on too but the engine and turbos act fine....its just waaaaaaay down on power...also it was on a 4wd dynojet...anyone got anyother ideas? also any one know any supra specialists in new jersey?

No its not cause its an auto thats stupid. Did you reset your ecu also? Or even try to pull the codes off the car? Do you have the dyno sheet to post? It may not help, but you never know. Have you changed your plugs lately, what did you make last time on the dyno?

You may want to be carefull if you're running very very lean since that can lead to you needing a new engine.

94 pump...just reset ecu...brand new plugs .35 gap...last dyno was 330rwhp and 272 rwtq and the most resent was 325rwhp and 258rwtq...it was on a 4wd dyno tho...at turbo trix in edison...car runs smooth with no smoke engine and turbo seem fine...so idk whats goin on =(

Maybe you have a bad ecu.

wait, the problem is that you lost 5rwhp since last dyno?? that is no big deal, weather could of been different or anything. but 5 rwhp is not alot. i would concentrate on finding why your running lean.

Why are you racing around with the check engine light on? First figure out why it is on. It could be something really simple to fix or something very major. You can not expect to make big numbers on the dyno if your computer is telling you something is wrong.

Second, post your dyno with the air/fuel ratio chart so we can see what is going on. We can't help you unless you give us something to work with.

i know...and im not racing the car around...ive been babying it ever sence the light came on...i only drive it now to shops...and the problem is not thats its down by 5 hp sence last time...there are too problems...1st is the engine check light...and then the fact that it only made 330-325 rwhp on the dyno...its full bpu...i will post the dyno sheets as soon as i figure out how...im new to the forums... anyone wanna be a nice guy and show me? lol

BPU cars generally run pig rich, especially at 4k and again at 6k RPM points. Unless the + on the BPU you list is a fuel controller that is improperly tunned. Most auto parts stores will pull your codes with a OBD-II code reader or you can just buy one for like $80. You should be 380-400 WHP. Also optimum BPU to mild APU plug gap is .028 -.032. prefered plugs that are relatively cheap are the NGK 6097's although not carried by all auto parts stores so order in bulk. Also try running some race fuel to reduce the chance of knocking and detonation that your motor may be picking up in very small amounts and pulling timing.

What do the sheets show for your af (don't have a microscope)? It looks like it might be ok. 11.5-12 is the sweet spot for Supras.

I'm sorry but why are you gonna dyno your car when your check engine light is on? shouldn't you be looking into taking care of the check engine light first?

I see you have adjustable cam gears on,what are they set to?You need to say more,what are all your mods?
When you install the apexi-s-avc,how soon after you install it did the check engine lite come on?
What are your setting on the s-afc?

As noted - you do need to pull that code and find that problem.
It could be the O2 sensor - my auto BPU ('94) was making about 325 rwhp and I could not find the problem.
It got so bad recently, the CEL came on and the code indicated O2 sensor. I replaced it and the car pulls better than it has for quite some time.
And, as an auto, your rwhp will be somewhat less than a manual for the same crank HP. I think we BPU autos should see around 370-380 rwhp.

how many o2 sensors do ob1 cars have?....

I had a friend working on my exhaust, and he accidentally tore the wires to the o2 sensor on the dp...

is this important (i've already bought another one.. just checking while I wait)?

I dunno if it could be it but you never know. Who installed your cam gears? Is there a possiblity they totally screwed up the timing on your car? Did it feel better before any of these mods were done than after?

i dont have all the info you guys are asking becuase im new and just got the car 3 months ago...i will try and find out...turbo trix in edison did all the work...All the mods are listed on page one of my cardomain...when i bought the car it had mostly everything it has now except for the s-afc, the turbo timer, and the cam gears. before the car felt fast but then after it was suposivly tuned it did feel faster, then i got it dynoed and it only put down 330rwhp and 272rwtq or something like that, as the weeks then went on sometimes the ecl would flash on and off as i drove around and it just started to get worse ,got diagnostic (check out fine) and ecl went off 5 miles down the road it came back on, so i took it to get retuned , the powerband is now alot smoother but still way down on power ..also sometimes when i turn right sence my left door sensor is so sensitive it always come on when my leg presses up against it...and just to clear everything up...im trying to fix 2 problems.. the ecl and the fact that it did horrible on the dyno...maybe they are related but idk...the first dyno was done before the light came on then the second was after... i also had a diagnostic done on the car and they said it was fine...and they got the light to go off and when u reset the ecu it goes off ,but then as soon as u take it out on the road it comes back on. i would like to fix the ecl first and then the dyno problem but i really dont know where to start becuase theres no one located close to me that knows alot about supras... and sorry guys for the small pictures ...ill take some closer ones now and put em up...
