Virtually no power on 2nd Turbo(please help)

Today for the first time ever, i had virtually no power kick in on the second turbo when i floored it from a second gear roll. same thing on the 3rd gear roll. when 2nd turbo came online, there was a very slight humming noise, not very loud at all, and a slight vibration associated with it. Those who have experienced turbo #2 failure, does this decription fit the beginning of the death of #2 turbo? However, the strange thing was, if i took off from a stop and went through first gear and second gear up to 60, it appeared to be fine. Thanks. Any help would be grately appreciated.

Sounds like it is time to go Single turbo.

try putting it on ttc mode with check valves and see if it kicks in. could be a bad vsv. when i was on ttc mode and switch back to sequential, my second turbo sometimes did not come on line. so now im back on ttc mode.

gl,

Thanks Bobby. i hope thats the case. I wouldn't mind being true twin anyways. i'll know if it works by next week. I don't plan to go single until a couple years from now.

Mine started doing that once CA went to 91 oct. So I got half 91 and half 110 and it's much happier now.
Make sure the vacuum lines did not come off your 2nd turbo actuator. This is located on the passenger side of the engine bay, by the fire wall. Looks like a small canister with a rod coming out. This device controls when and if your second turbo comes on line, if there is a blown or loose vaccum hose it will not work.

THanks. The connection looks like its on securely. Strange thing though guys, my car is running fine now:confused:
All day today, the second turbo kicked in like it should. I dont know why its working now, but im not complaining. i hope it stays like this.

Sound like a good reason to go single. I believe there is a pressure tank that maintains line pressure to that actuator. If for some reason there is a leak anywhere in the pressure tank system(lines etc.), it could cause the second turbo to not come on line.
