We all know how rare 95 Hardtops are...

But there is a 1995 White Hardtop with stock twins. The seller advertises low miles and claims it as a turbo car.

I ran the Carfax.... boy oh boy...

This car is a 1995 N/A Hardtop with a GTE swap, and the latest reported mileage on carfax is 164,790.....not the advertised 65k (which could be engine mileage).

Definitely 100% misleading.

VIN is JT2JA81L5S0031345 (so 81L is N/A right?)

How do I report this to ebay???

The original buyer made a deposit based on a sure fire cash buyer on his own Supra. Unfortunately that guy flaked on him, but he was up front with me on the status to begin with and is a 100% respectable guy.

I really want to keep this thing, so I'm going to cross my fingers and see if Hagerty will cover the car and I for a reasonable price (if I cant get my asking price).

That pic is from his auction. He must of swaped odometers. Odometer fraud is a felony in kansas.

I agree but you'd be surprised how dumb some people are in this world, especially the ones that fall for the nigerian ebay scams. Oh...you're gonna send me a check for $4k more than my car and you want me to send you back the extra $4k and ship you my car...okay...sounds good! :ugh2:

Most supra sellers are very very dishonest people this is not surprising at all. I remember one white car on ebay that the seller listed as perfect flawless and mint. Yet the carfax reported a front impact with a tree. When asked the seller said it was just a minor accident. bwhahahahah I have never seen a minor front impact with a tree. But that's supra seller business model. Polish a turd and expect top dollar.

Sometimes carfax is not enough cars can be wrecked and have a clean carfax. that's when a good eye for paint work tape lines and a trusty paint meter come into play. I cant tell you how many supras i went to look at before i got mine that were advertised as clean no accidents yet when i went to see them they had paint work everywhere. a fresh coat of paint is one thing but bondo everywhere is a whole different story. Always assume someone selling a car is dishonest until you can prove otherwise.

Care to elaborate on what a paint meter is and how to spot tape lines? I can usually tell from looking at a car with polarized glasses but it'd always be nice to learn something new.
