i have an autometer phantom water temp gauge installed where the BVSV used to be in the thermostat housing. It doesn't work. I'm pretty sure it's hooked up properly. My stock gauge doesn't work either, so i have NO idea what kind of temps my coolant is running at. On top of this, i also installed electric fans and i'm really sketchy on the job they do.

Is there anyway i can test out my gauge outside of the car??? it's a pretty straight fourth install........insert probe into bung, insert bung into thermostat housing, attach sending unit wire to probe, run wire to gauge, power gauge.........that's it right??
