Hi.
So i have been having a problem with the Master warning light and the Hand break light staying on even if the hand break goes down,they just slightly dim but that is all.
So i tried looking around on contacts and stuff and after putting the dash back together i see that the lights on the top left of the dash.
Under the security light,they all lit up now,seems to turn on and off if moving the cables.
Could the cables be broken inside and not showing at all outside?
Also i dont know what causes the dim lights problem.
I was thinking maybe a bad ground wire or something like that but i checked some of the ground points and they seem fine.
I really need some help with this.
I have found also some cut cables from the previous owner and i dont know the inportance of the cables soo yeah.
I appreciate any help.

Does your horn and/or cruise control currently work? I think those wires (green,red,white,brown) go to the back of the clock spring to a plug inside the the steering wheel for those items.

I honestly do not know if they work,i have only driven the car once when i got it home and never since.As those electrical problems prevent me from registering it.
But if it is just those would any light even show up?

Nope, those wouldn't throw any codes or lights. If you still have cruise control in the car on the steering wheel you'll see it light up on the dash when you turn it on.
Those are all the problem lights at the moment but they flicker like christmas lights if i move the cable in the back of the panel.
Except of the Master light and hand break light.They just dim slightly if handbrake goes down

You have some bad solder joints in that connector. This will fix most of your issues:

That sounds like just the thing that might work for my problem.
Made my day so much better.
I am going to do this at the weekend and hopefully solve the problem.

You have some bad solder joints in that connector. This will fix most of your issues:

That solved most of the lights in the dash.
There are only 2 lights left.
TRC OFF and ABS
Any ideea where i could start to diagnose it?
Note im kinda new with car stuff but i am wiling to learn

Code:
Checking Supra error codes

OK:
1. Turn your ignition *on*
2. In the diagnostics port, unplug the short connector from the bottom right (it's a bit of metal that joins two pins)
3. Use a jumper wire on pins TC and E1
4. Your ABS warning light will now behave like the check engine light, as in:

If system is functioning properly, ABS light will flash 2 times per second.
If a malfunction is detected, 4 seconds will elapse, then ABS light will begin flashing 2-digit DTC.
ABS light will flash first digit of DTC, followed by a 1.5-second pause, then second digit of DTC.
If 2 or more DTCs are stored, a 2.5-second pause will separate DTCs.
After all DTCs are flashed, there will be a 4-second pause, then all DTCs will repeat."

CLEARING DTCS
NOTE: DTCs can also be cleared by removing ECU-B fuse but other memory systems will be cleared.

Remove short connector from DLC1.
Using a jumper wire, jumper DLC1 or DLC2 terminals Tc and E1
Turn ignition on.
With vehicle stopped, depress brake pedal 8 or more times within 3 seconds.
DTCs are now erased. Ensure ABS light blinks 2 times per second.
Reconnect short connector.

ERROR CODES
ABS light displays DTCs. Each DTC will light a warning light
when a problem occurs. Supra uses 3 warning lights; ABS
light, TRAC light and TRAC OFF light. After each Code number
the light sequence for that code will be shown. For example;
Code 11 - On/Off/On, (On/Off/On sequence means ABS light On,
TRAC light Off and TRAC OFF light On).

Code 11 - On/Off/On
Open or short in solenoid relay circuit. Check actuator
wiring harness, solenoid relay, solenoid relay wiring harness, and
solenoid relay connector.
Code 12 - On/Off/On
Short to voltage in solenoid relay circuit. Check actuator
wiring harness, solenoid relay, solenoid relay wiring harness, and
solenoid relay connector.
Code 13 - On/Off/On
Open or short in pump motor relay circuit. Check actuator
wiring harness, pump motor relay, wiring harness, and pump motor
connector.
Code 14 - On/Off/On
Short to voltage in pump motor relay circuit. Check actuator
wiring harness, pump motor relay, wiring harness and pump motor
connector.
Code 15 - On/On/On
Open or short in TRAC solenoid relay.
Code 16 - On/Off/On

Code 58 - Off/On/On
Open circuit in TRAC pump motor circuit.
Code 61 - Off/On/On
Abnormal TRAC ECU communication.
Code 62 - On/On/On
Wheel speed sensor malfunction.
ABS Light Always On
Malfunction of ABS ECU. Inspect ABS ECU connector for
security and undamaged terminals. If connector is okay, replace ABS ECU.

SPEED SENSOR DIAGNOSTICS
NOTE: While diagnosing speed sensors, brake system functions as a conventional system.
1) Ensure battery voltage exists. Turn ignition on. Ensure ABS light illuminates, then goes out after about 3 seconds. If ABS light does not illuminate, check fuse, bulb and wiring harness.
2) Turn ignition off. DO NOT remove short pin from DLC1. Using a jumper wire, jumper terminals Ts and E1 of DLC1. Engage parking brake. Start engine. Ensure ABS light blinks 4 times per second.
3) Drive vehicle straight ahead above 28 MPH for several seconds. Stop vehicle. Jumper terminals Tc and E1 of DLC1. If a malfunction is detected, 4 seconds will elapse and ABS light will begin to flash a 2-digit DTC. First number of blinks will equal first digit in a DTC. After a 1.5-second pause, second number of blinks will equal second digit in a DTC.
4) If 2 or more DTCs are stored, there will be a 2.5-second pause between each DTC. After all DTCs are flashed, there will be a 4 second pause and all DTCs will repeat.
5) Record DTCs. Turn ignition off. Repair as necessary. Remove jumper wire from DLC1. Clear DTCs.

Or does it has to be original ECU?
I have been trying the method and no sign of working at all

Are the ABS and TRAC systems still in the car?
For the ABS system you have to jump the terminals under the dash and the ABS light will flash. It will tell you the code. For the TRAC system, you need to give us more details.

This might not be related, but on my 4Runner, when the cat was going out (after 270K miles) I would get the TRC OFF and ABS lights on the dash.

Apparently they come on when there is an issue with the o2 sensor and/or cat. I had an ODB2 diagnostic device on the car at the time that told me what it was when I saw these. The device also let me reset and it came back 3 times over the next 2 weeks.

I was driving from Ohio to CA at the time, so when i got home I had the cat swapped out and all is well now.

Are the ABS and TRAC systems still in the car?
For the ABS system you have to jump the terminals under the dash and the ABS light will flash. It will tell you the code. For the TRAC system, you need to give us more details.
when i got the car i was told from the previous owner that the Trac was disabled.No detail was give how exactly.
As for the ABS system it should still be functional.i dont have a chance to test it since i cant drive the car.
Also what terminals to jump For ABS?
Because thats my number 1 problem stopping me from registering the car.
The TRC OFF wont cause a problem.

This might not be related, but on my 4Runner, when the cat was going out (after 270K miles) I would get the TRC OFF and ABS lights on the dash.

The entire exhaust its brand new from Turbo till back end.
Was done by the garage that took care of the car for me

Oh, the sensor codes. That's a cheat sheet that shows you how to read the codes.

Like in my MK3, once you jump the wire and turn the key on, you count the number of CEL flashes to decode. So I recently fixed my knock sensor wiring. I was getting code 52. So 5 flashes, pause, then 2 flashes....long pause, and then it would repeat. If i had more than one code, it would tell me all of them that way.

The MK4 is more sophisticated and uses the lighting of the 3 lights in a certain sequence to show you the same thing.

i am really having trouble making a sense of the way that works.
I dont even know what is DLC1.
I dont suppose there is a video about it?

For the TRAC system most people pull the fuse in the fuse box. I'm not sure what the previous owner did. Is the hardware still in the engine bay?
