I did a search and could not find someone who had the exact same symptoms as me, so I thought id try my luck with a thread. About 1mth ago after putting some gas in, I drove down the street and came to a stop. I noticed my idle was way down, almost to the point of stalling. After idling for a while it slowly recovered and started idling normal again. About a month later (today) I put gas again, and the same thing happened, only it died this time. When I re-started it, it idled fine, actually a tad bit higher than usual. Car is a 94 6spd, only mods are a 3" catless dp and hks super mega flow intake. Anyone have any ideas? It could just be a coincidence that it happened after I got gas both times, and I would think if the Idle controller wad bad or dirty it would do it all the time. When it was idling low the car was driving fine no missing or anything like that.

My car was stalling and dying randomly for several days, couldn't even get it restarted for hours after most of the time it died. Turned out to be the coil pack connectors, those little clip things. The gas thing sounds like it may be a pointer in your case though, but thought I'd mention it anyway.

well I do need to replace one of the clip things for sure on the coil pack connectors. However, usually if it was that it would mis-fire/not run right, the car was driving fine, and when I re-started it the problem was not there. And the weird thing is it doesnt do it everytime I put gas or all the time, maybe once a month. It could also have something to do with the fact that it turned really hot out here as that makes the idle lower. The first time it happened a month ago, it learned to idle higher on its own, this last time it died, re-started it and it was fine. It has not done it since.
