What happened to Garage Advance?

Is garage advance still in business? I've been trying to call/email them for a week at least and nobody ever answers. Anyone happen to know what the deal is?

Yeah, I checked their website and sent emails to all 3 addresses listed, plus [email protected] and [email protected], and tried calling a few times. Strange...

My car is there right now. They are open, but REALLY REALLY busy, you can get a hold of them at their shop number (1-407-292-8144) or cell phone (sorry, can't give it out) but they are trying to finish my car up right now, so they can move to their new location. Its hard to get them to answer the phone right now, but you should be able to get them sooner or later in the day!

I had to edit what I said because they are a REALLY REALLY good place to get your car worked on or tuned. Its just they are a little tied up right now with trying to get things put together and moving into their bigger building. Just be patient!

Well it IS called GARAGE advance. I wouldn't really expect them to have awesome service heh.

i dont think you all are being fair. the guys there are very friendly and they really know their stuff. angel is one of the best tuners around. ask ANYONE with a shop and they will tell you its very busy when you are starting up and getting your feet on the ground, especially if you are trying to move your entire business. give them a chance. they do excellent work from what ive seen and heard. i havent heard anyone who has dealt with them say anything negative.

Keep looking.
I don't like to bash on any shop but I don't want to see anybody make an uninformed decision and regret it. Check out the S. Florida regional section. Talk to some people who have had work done there. Once again I am not bashing and i know it's hard to please everyone and juggle your business while expanding but if you want to succeed it's somethign you have to do.

I much rather a shop take care of all the cars they have there versus trying to drum up even more than they can handle by taking on additional customers that is beyond the maximum capacity. Granted this means that future customers are going to have to suffer, but what i believe the customers that are paying your bills is by far more important.

My entire car has nothing but GA parts on it. The quality is top notch and the parts work great. I have no complaints from the products installed. They installed my fuel system and that is one of the few things that ever worked right from the go on my car

Are they the guys that had to take their car over to SP to get it completely un fucked up??? Just checking. I could be wrong.. I only burn cars for fun not work on them.

My car is still not on the road after being FUCKED UP by Garage Advance. Please see this thread and post here for the complete story. I could not discourage anyone enough from wanting to take their car there. You may never see it again and when you do, it may not even have a hood on it.

Adam, may I ask though why you took it to GA? I always thought you used autotuner? :scratch: I'm not questioning your judgement, just wondering why you switched shops?

Please stop with your negativity towards GA. You had one bad experience there and thats that. I had my car there and its all good, and my brothers was there and its all good. Stop bashing on them, they do good work, were all sick and tired of hearing your whining, bitching and moaning! We see where you have whined everywhere. Yes, I know what happend, I was actually dropping off my car when you're was getting tuned on the dyno around the end of July. Please stop BITCHING! We know your car is fucked up, and I would be pissed too, but shit, Im tired of ready every thread and you end up in it bitching about GA!

Adam still brings his car to our shop for all of his work except AEM Dyno Tuning, we have no dyno yet but its something we look to do.

Once Autotuner gets a dyno - I think that's about it for Central FL shops!

As far as Adam "bitching" - after hearing his story, umm, he can bitch all he wants. Sure most shops have a horror story or two - it's just a matter of how they deal with it.

I think he is allowed to express his opinion all he wants. I guess I don't frequent the Florida forums that much so I probably don't see it as much as you do, but I think if you get screwed over by a shop you are completely within your rights to say whatever you want. Atleast he doesn't say stuff like "meet me in the parking lot at 4:30....i'm gonna kick your ass!"

Um, funny, I can only remember him "bitching" on only one thread...I could be wrong...but for fairness, how about you drop off your car over at my house, I break your hood...twice, fuck up your car so that it does not run, then not inform you I am no longer working on your car, not answer your phone calls/emails/voice messages, and when you arrive back at my house with a tow truck to drag your car to MS, I demand 1k for all of my "hassle." Then we will see how much "bitching" you do.

And since I will be in Orlando this weekend, I'll just make a trip over to GA to inform them of your plans and have them ship your car over to my address per your bill.

Not only are they still in business but business is better than ever. Too good in fact. For the space they have right now and the demand for their work, they are SWAMPED. Everytime I talk with Al, I think that he needs a nap. But Sid had it right. Their quality of work and workmanship on their products is top notch. I'm sure eveyone has complaints about this shop or that, and that's natural. And if someone chooses not to bring their car to a shop because of it, then that's cool too.

Garage Advance and Al and the others who work there are stand up guys.
As far as knowing their stuff who else do you know that has gotten 528rwhp out of an internally stock MR2T 3sgte? That car was driven like that for 1+yrs before the oil pump went out and they spun a bearing.
That MR2 would give most of the Supra's on this forum a good run for their money.

We have all had bad experiences with some shop sooner or later, nobody's perfect.

I needed the car tuned on the AEM and GA claimed they could do it. 2 broken hoods, 2 broken windshields, 1500 bucks more than the original quote, and 3 months versus the original 2 weeks quoted later the car is still not tuned in above 26psi. Right now, the car won't even run and I had to tow it 2x since it left GA. AT tried to clean up their mistakes, but I was left stranded on the way to Miami from Orlando> AT has done all things right, and I honestly doubt you'll find a complaint from their shop. Adam and Larry do things right.

Tell me this, before I take legal action which is happening in 1 week's time. Have Angel call me about where my replacement hood for the one GARAGE ADVANCE BROKE is. If he calls, I'll post here he called. I have called his cell 3-4x, I have emailed 3-4x, and I still have no answer on a hood that was supposed to be "here this week (*back in August) to ship onward to me). When you tell me AT has a legal suit against them, I'll start thinking this is routine. Till then, I have just gotten a lawyer. When Angel is ready to call me instead of marvel about how busy they are, let me know. Think I am kidding? Do I care the few GA people think I "bitch too much" on the one thread I bitched on? If you car didn't run for 8 months, how would you feel? Lets see the phone call, he has my number. I can copy and paste emails here if you like to show I am trying to communicate. God knows I want this GA mess over. Hands down? I'd rather have a retarded, quadrapelegic, skitzophrenic 8 year old work on my car than GA.
