In the center console there is two cup holders and in between the two of them there is a little square box cut out with the word "push" written next to it. anyone have a clue what this is for???

yah...i don't know if you noticed this on the cupholder, but there is a piece that swivels down so that it can hold cans and stuff (without it, the can would be at the bottom of the center console and not be held by the holder itself, causing it to fall over and spill). when that piece is locked into the cup holding rings, you press the tab sticking out of the "push" and it swivels down and you can put cups in

Lol, yah....there are always a few that are shocked when this topic comes up. They're in your center console, the lid contains the cup holder trey that comes down.

Yeah, open your center console and look up inside the lid...you have to pull it down to use it...kinda cheesy because whatever is in your console will get wet from your drink "sweating"...but heh, it was designed in the 80's before cupholders became standard fare...

Pre-89 do not have cup holders, only 89+ got em.

Mine is a 89. Got them,. and the swivel part breaks off all the time. Got to get some duct tape.

Can someone post a pic of the cup holder with the part that im missing??? i put cans bottles and cups in mine with no problems at all??? in fact ive found that if you put a can of soda in the front cup holder then put the console lid down it sits at a more comfortable position.
