Right now my car is BPU+ and my stock clutch is almost dead. I am strongly considering going to a single turbo that will run about 500 RWHP. I wont be going single for a few months though, but I dont want to have to buy a new clutch again when I do go single. What clutch would you guys suggest? Are there any upgraded clutchs that feel like the stock one? Thanks.

I recently bought the TRD Twin disk with lightened flywheel.
TomSid, I was thinking of getting the TRD twin as well...
Can you tell how bad or how much more is the chatter due to the lightened flywheel that comes with the disk?

How more is the pedal pressure from stock?

Thanks a lot,:)

I have an rps stage 3 clutch w/sprung hub and an Unorthodox aluminum flywheel. The performance is incredible, but the chatter is somewhat annoying when it gets hot. I've been pushing a ton of power and never felt it slip once. I've only smelled the clutch burning once after doing several 5500rpm launches in a row. I would highly recommend the clutch but I would suggest staying with a stock flywheel unless you don't mind a fair amount of chatter.

What are people feelings on the RPS stage 2 clutch? I just started to feel my TRD single start to slip after my runs in Vegas so I am looking into a new clutch. I am BPU++.

Clutch Specialties Clutch

Clutch Specialties is building a clutch for me and should be ready by next week. They made billet rivets and doubled up on the drive straps. Email me in about 2 weeks if you would like an update.

I have a new TRD twin plate setup for sale at a major bargain price if you decide to go that route. IMO, it is an excellent, top-quality clutch if you're interested in a lightweight flywheel setup and not looking for a clutch that you can use repeatedly to modulate power to the wheels (through massive clutch slip) on 6K RPM lauches on slicks. The TRD has waaay better pedal feel and waaay smoother engagement than my RPS 6-puck on the factory flywheel. I just didn't like the rattling that the transmission does with the lightweight flywheels so I pulled the TRD out after 12 gentle miles (while it was still in brand new condition). Some people don't mind the noise though. In fact, some people seem to like it as they feel it makes the cars sound more racy. :)

Yea, that is why it's gonna be another couple weeks before it's ready. It's already proven to hold up to extreme slipping and now it's in the process of testing (in saads car) at the 1/4 track on slicks and full boost. There are some more changes they are making to the clutch. It'll be a few weeks...
Thanks for the wishes ryan! You got that dyno sheet up yet?
