how can u tell i thought u had to look at the oil pans

 

I was under the impression that they used the same motor?

 

Because it looks like my engine and I have 2 of them in the garage that are US spec that look identical minus the EGR since those are JDM motors.

how can you be so sure that this is an aristo, the company selling it says it came off of a 95 supra.

 

can someone post just the "real" supra motor and do a side by side comparison. just the motor only.

 

you need to see the oil pan, dosnt matter if it has the single bov or where the dipstick is located; the oil dipstick is located in the same place on the aristo and supra. Ask for oil pan pix!!

THose are some shitty ass pix as well, if they were decent quality, I could have atleast made out the part number on the sticker in front, called toyota to see if its a Aristo or JDM Supra.

 

I'd say supra because the water pump is fan clutch and aristo water pumps arent. But to be postive the aristo oil pan sump is in the front and supra is in the rear.

It is hard to tell without a nice shot of the oil pan but the water pump is the supra type and not the Aristo type. If the water pump is stock than it is from a Supra because I have never seen an aristo with the supra style water pump however the GS300 2JZGE uses the supra style pump which isnt the same as the 2JZGTE water pump but the same design without the use of the hydraulic fans and the GS300 is similar to the aristo 2JZGTE but with the 2JZGE, similar in configuration i mean. Does that make sense?

Here are some more pics, but again they arent that great. Just to let you guys know, i bought this motor and the tranny, but now i am having doubts about which car it came out of, but at any rate, this motor and the tranny is going in the car in the "sig"

One more thing i forgot to tell you, the tranny that was mated with this motor is a 6 speed tranny which i also bought. Was the Aristo ever offered a 6 speed tranny.

they are supposed to be the same motor, those pics were taken by the company that i bought the motor from.

 

they arent the same pics. black vacuum lines in one pic red in the other. they are differnt. and i agree 1st two are aristo 3rd and 4th are supra.

 

the last set of pics on the trailer is the motor i bought, and these pics were taken by me. so that means that i got the supra motor.

 

yes you got the supra motor because the oil pan is rear sumped not front sumped.

100% Correct

I have a JDM JZS147 Aristo motor in my Cressida.. Just swapped over to the Supra Water pump and now runing thermos

 

There are many diff engines in those pics
But you got the Supra one

Oil Pan is correct
Aristos are always Automatic 100% of the time unless swapped (rare)
Many Aristos say TRC on the T/B not ETCS
