What should I do?

I am sixteen and bought a 89 supra in great condition that Ive been wanting. This guy I know thinks his 92gsx eclipse is the greatest thing in the world. What Im trying to say is I want to smoke him. He runs low fourteens in the quarter mile. I have a intake, exhaust, and a three inch straight trough down pipe without no cats. I still am running the stock boost but got gauges and plan to bumb it up to ten pounds. Is that not good?
Whats next for me? Any suggestions?

Lexus afm/550s and a afc w/ a ebc.. or similar setup.. a gsx will rape you out of the hole.. so ull play catchup the whole time.. oh and you need the driver mod the most! .. good luck
get a boost gauge and a manual boost controller (Dr Jonez sells them for about $30 i think), make sure your car is running well (new plugs, fresh oil, clean air filter, etc)...

with your mods, a good driver, decent tires, and boost set just below fuel cut, you should be into mid/high 13s.
you might be able to shim the wastegate up to 10-11 psi.... don't think that'll put you into low fourteens though... although, each psi on the ct-26 =~ 10hp... not much gain, but it helps over just 6psi... i definitelly felt a difference when i shimmed my wastegate... it's a good $2 mod, until you can afford a boost controller...
Run him from a 60mph rolling start with 12psi, straight exhaust, and a boost gauge. There, that should do it.
Thanks what next

Hey thanks guys, I have money for a boost controller, I have been looking aroung for one but not much people I know, know much about my car. This guy who did my exhaust can do anything to cars for cheap so if you have a suggestion on the boost controller it would help.

Thanks
Manual is cheap, but not reliable. Boost spikes and such. Go with a nice Greddy or sumn sim.... look on ebay. That place is the best.
The '89 Supra Turbo ran a 14.7 1/4 mile stock at 7 PSI. With the boost cranked up to 10-15psi you should have no trouble smoking him.

BTW- Do you have the stock headgasket? If so, this might not be a great idea.

Sorry to get off topic sort of, but what publication was that in? Best I saw was a 15.2 or it might have been 15.3 stock for an '89 turbo.
i think the first question is how are running stock boost with those mods? with those mods your boost should automatically be bumped up to at least 8psi probably more like 9 if the mods were done right....just curious?

Thanks guys,

The guy whoes been working on my car has a boost controller for my car so I dont have to worry about that. I have a couple hundred of dollars should I get a new head gasket or a fuel controller. Or should I get something different first. Would like to know. Thanks

Headgasket.

And if all you're running against is a low 14 second car, you should be able to take him with intake, exhaust, and boost under fuel cut. I run low 14s with a generic K&N, 2.5" crunch-bent exhaust, and 11.5 lbs of boost.
Hey thanks low infinity,

How high can I or should I say how much would be ok to turn up the boost to. Would 12psi be ok without pushing anything or should 10psi be fine.
I just want to thank everyone who has had advise for me. My dad said it would be good to get on and talk to you guys. Now I know what I want to do with my supra thanks to you guys

In my dreams.
hey brady.this is a great forum to learn everything you could ever want to know about your car...and a shitload more that you never would want to know!

not only is it good to post here any problems you might have but its also a great place to read about everything.so if you have a problem you might already have the answer in your head.

as far as your current situation....boost cut is different for every car but on average you will hit it around 11.5psi....i think a nice full exhaust, intake, and the boost up to 10psi would kill any eclipse like you mentioned. HOWEVER having said that i wouldnt suggest doing it unless you either HAVE mhg already OR have the money to replace it when it blows..... upping the boost is fun but without the right preperation it could turn into a nightmare.

anyways hope that helps and have fun with your new toy! :)
