I noticed that one of the ports to a solenoid on my motor was broken. The solenoid is mounted near the exhaust valve cover near the 4-5 cylinders. It is bolted to a air chamber of some sort and opens a flap to the box.
I haven't had a chance to look at my repair manual to see what it is. Can anyone tell me what it controls, if it affects performance/emissions/etc, and if it is worth trying to find a used one (i.e. is this something people remove from their cars?).
