I pulled my 1JZ out of my JZA70 to do some bottom end work on it, and noticed there's a line coming from the gas tank into a charcoal canaster. That makes sense, but then there's another line leaving the canister, and going right into the front crossmember. What the hell is that for?

No I don't know it generates vacuum. It looks like a vacuum hose, so that's what I called it.

also to attempt to get the gas fumes in a location in which people wont smell them and complain

basically just a vent. i removed my charcol canister, capped off the lines and put on a vented gas cap, problem solved

actually, funny you mentioned the vented gas cap. Even with this charcoal canister, my gas tank builds up pressure inside of itself. Whenever I take off teh cap, I get a pig psssssh as it depressurizes. Maybe I should see if something's blocked.

The MA70 has one too that runs into the fender directly underneath the CC.
