Well my engine is getting worse and worse, I just got it back out two days ago after sitting for the winter. The Head gasket went bad last summer, but I have been driving on it since. Well today I have had to fill the overflow tank 3 times, and it even started to overheat for the first time. So now I am left with a decision to make.

1) I could hopefully put a new HG on and torque it down to the 72# instead of 65 that it probably was at when I got it. Oh yeah it is an N/A

2) Or I could just put in the other engine and transmission that I have had since last summer, but have not put in yet because I have been trying to save up the thousands that i need to do it right. The thing is I will not have the money to put in the turbo engine the right way for a while.

Anyone have any other ideas, suppose parking it is still on the table, but these last two days have been so wonderful.

hopefully you haven't gotten any coolant in your oil... if that has happened then you may be in for more than just a headgasket.

nitro glycerin eh? sounds fast, that is better than NAWsss right?

Now about that coolant getting to the bearings, I kind of think that has already happened, but . . . well I am starting to think that I am going to go ahead and do the HG w. some high torque and hope it holds out till I have the other engine and acessories ready to go.

lol seeing as you have another engine almost ready for a swap, you could beat the shit out of this one if you wanted:p or you could try mhg with arps. but id save the money for the other engine you have. just keep adding coolant and maybe oil untill it wont run and untill you have enough money to finish the other engine. but theres a good chance that the coolant is already in the oil.

well, seeing as how I am going through the overflow tank three times in 60 miles, that is not an option, it is just too much of a hassle. I am thinking about running the piss out of it, but if I did that I do not think that it will last long enough till I can get the other engine ready. Don't see the point in a MHG, but I think I will go order a Felpro tomorrow, and maybe some headbolts.

So far, no one has asked whether you've checked for coolant leaks, & only Chrisco mentioned coolant in the oil. Just curious if you've determined where exactly the coolant is going. Out the tail pipe? :wtf:

Well, yes the coolant is going out the tail pipe, also the oil is going out the tail pipe. Could the burning oil be in anyway related to the HG, or is it more likely valves or valve seals not seated right, or even a piston ring broken? I have also changed my mind since the last post. I think i am just going to drive it till it shits, and hopefully by then I have my dirtbikes, and D1x sold maybe even the boat (if anyone is interested let me know). And why would I want a Victor Reinz?

Rather than guess at this point, some diagnostics are in order. Compression & leak-down tests will answer your questions for you. You may not be in as tough a spot as you think, so reserve judgement until after testing. Cross each bridge as you get to it. Let us know your results.

Insofar as HG selection, Felpro will work just fine.

Good luck.

Im sorry but no n/a gets up and goes.
I am sick of this kind of bull shit, I am aware that people are asses about this N/A thing but you are dead wrong. What about Buggywugger, or Defiant7M? And further more what about the Carrera GT 1/4 in 11.4 stock N/A. I did not say it got up and went compared toa turbo, I was compating my aple to other aples saying that it was still making the same power most N/A do that are stock. And for all I care you can go fuck yourself if you wish to post again in this thread unless it is for apology.

Now, for the compression test I can do that right here at a home, but what numbers would I be looking for, or is it good enough if they are all in the same ranger, and I do not know the first thing about a leakdown test, but I am guessing I do not have the equiptment for that one, and I would much rather not spend the money if I do not have too.

if your engine is on its way out and you've been drivingon a bhg since last summer, be nice, kill it completely, then swap in a jdm longblock (n/a or turbo, up to you).

ya thats what i said just keep driving it with the bhg, if its leaking that much coolant, you proabbly have a coolant leak, if it leaked that much coolant due to the bhg then it would be continually smoking lol
