My power steering rack is leaking from the right seal in the boot. My car has been unused for 2 years waiting for me to finish my BHG rebuild. It did not have this leak when i last drove it. I am wondering if with out the pump pumping that when i turn the wheel it had too much fluid in that side of the rack and blew the seal temporarily or permanently?

Napa wants about $350 with out the evo valve and $465 with the new solenoid. A rebuild kit for the end is $75 but who knows if the other side would blow too. My car has 220,000 miles on it so i bet a new one would perform better.

What are y'alls suggestions and where should i buy a new/reman rack?

Thanks,

I bought the complete rebuild kit from Champion Toyota for $40.00, although, it's not the easiest thing that you'll ever rebuild.
