I am about to have a converter built for my car from Edge Racing Converters. However, they tell me in the 21 years that they have been building converters, a "handful" of times there were 2 different auto trannies. He said over 95% have been the same..and but a few have been different. I trust Edge, since I have used them in the past with great success. So which tranny is likely in my 1994, and is there an ID plate, or serial number on the transmission itself I can confirm? Where do I look for this info? Any help is appreciated.

There is a sticker inside your door with engine, rear, transmission code information.

The transmission codes are:

W58 W58 (Toyota 5 speed manual)
A340E (4 speed auto)
V160/V161 (Getrag 6 speed manual)

I do not believe there is any alternate auto transmission.

He said he has seen A341E in a "handful" of Twin Turbos...I had assumed that all TT came with A340E....

what is the deal with this? I noticed here lately too that when you go to NAPA or a parts store, that the Auto TT's show both an A341E and a A340E.

I am confused now.
