The bomex is very popular because it is so easy to get...
Of course this is totally personal opinion... but I have to agree with Hawkeye... the Trial lip is by far my favorite... but considering you will spend about $500+ to get it... the Bomex is far more reasonable.
I do have the Bomex lip... and actually do like it quite a bit. It is very stiff and will actually lift your car if you scrape it along the ground. It does flex a tiny bit to allow you to mount it... but it is very sturdy.
