geesh, this is an ongoing battle now...if you live close to chicago go with SP, if you are near texas get the PHR. but i doubt you will be dissapointed at all with either. they both seem to be high quality kits.
PHR Stage 2+
I'm installing the second SP kit in two weeks, I must say that I am totally impressed with the product and the fit. The Sound Performance kits are by far the most complete kits on the market.
the kits are a close match

deciding points i think will be these

phr stage 2 kit is $5,800
and its not complet (well my friends kit did not come complet)and the wastegate dumps into the atmosphere makes more noise

sp sp63 kit is $5,500 and is 100% complet to add i think he has them on sale right now too but im not sure!
the wastegate on the sp kit is routed back in to the system and makes less noise !

both units seem to come with high quality parts!

thanx ranger thats the info I am looking
I want complete kit, cause I wont be installing it, I am taking to toyota dealer to install it for $600 :)
only reason I didnt want rps kit , is that if doesnt fit, I have to pay more money for labor :(
And my kit comes with ceramic coating on all exhaust parts, powder coating on the IC pipe and air intake, and a polished compressor housing standard. That is all extra on the PHR kit last time I checked.

I am VERY happy with my PHR stage 2... but like everyone said... They are both very high quality.

The PHR website says that the kits have polished turbos... mine isn't polished... but I guess they have started including polished turbos.

Look, I don't know where this misconception that thr RPS kit does not fit comes from, but that is just not true. I personally gaurantee that my kit will fit your car, and you will not have to pay any extra for installation.
Rob's kits fit PERFECTLY, i've seen MANY installed and there is NO problem with fitment... I will be speaking from first hand experience soon

Is THAT what you been up to lately ;)

How much rwhp do each of these kits produce?
With all due respect, I think that the RPS kits perform better with its longer tube manifold. The RPS T72 I built for SW is a perfect example. It's not about peak horsepower, or I should say peaky power. I will let the 9.8 @ 154 speak for itself.
well my friend had one and he had to get some parts welded on and had to modify some other parts to fit correctly and some parts that came with it had to be replaced due to the quality of the items !
mabe this has changed
!
just speaking from what i have seen personaly!

You posted earlier on the forum that you now use innovative turbos instead of turbonetics turbos in your kits. I was wondering if the same goes for the wastegates... do you now use Pro-Gates or Indy-Gates instead of the Turbonetics racegates? Thanks a lot.

Planning ahead...

Looking ahead to getting one of these kits (I'm sweet on the SP63 I think) what should I be considering for a FMIC? I'd like something that could be used with the stock twins but work fine with the single without major modifications to things. Looking for meat under the curve across the band not a giant spike if I can help it ;) Yes, I too am watching and shopping around for a single eventually. Gots to save my pennies!

Hrm, and as for the PHR kit not being complete - it would be helpful if we knew what EXACTLY was wrong. "Stuff" doesn't tell us or the guy who sells the kits diddly. If it was incomplete did the customer call and complain? Did the company get ANY feedback about this? Lack of quality on what? The vendor should've been told. How long ago? Come on, you really need to bring more facts to the table than this - it's just not fair to the vendor to post this otherwise. I realize it wasn't your car but could you get back to us and politely let us know what the deal was? Perhaps there's been a change made since. Without facts th evendor has no way to defend themselves or explain and it ends up being more of an ambush than helpful to the rest of us. No flames intended but just how I feel - these guys support us with parts and we should try not to bite them in the ass without good reason.

Hrm, and does PHR ceramic coat everything now standard or is it an extra charge as noted above?

Why don't you go to the website? It lists every item which is included.

But it's one big diffrence

Sp is using there home made manifold and PHR is using the well known HKS manifold..

Thats the nr 1 manifold

Explain to me how this is any difference at all?? We use the EXACT same materials, same tube diameter, same shape, same laser cut flanges. I will admit we copied the HKS manifold pretty much. Put them side by side and they look identical. I have run 9.7s twice, 9.8, a 9.9 and a 10.0 this year with one...... anyone beat that?? Made 819 rwhp on an AUTOMATIC with one. Are you saying that American welders cannot weld as well as the Japanese??
