Hey.

Search results told me "lean" when coating spark plugs.


My exhaust side of the turbo, and 02 sensor are pasty white, and wonder if this is normal.

Some people say theirs look like that, and it just looks odd to me, the car is practically stock.


What do you think is the proper color of the coating?

Mine is the same white colour, completely stock. I just bolted the turbo side back together last night.

I sure hope that's normal!

That makes sense, I didn't think about the BHG I had about 20K ago... hmm, I guess that's also why the cat didn't work after it too..

That would be interesting. AFAIK, there has never been a BHG in mine...

Oil too.... especially syn oil.
Thats where mine is comming from.
As for pastey white being lean...
POSSIBLY.
But normally pasty white shows up for the lean status on the spark plugs.

I'm pretty sure it is usually just the additives in the fuel. They change additives seasonally, and it differs from brand to brand of fuel.

I had the same thing and it freaked me out, but everything checked out perfect, and after a while the color went back to the normal gray/black.
