DakaDan = [email protected]
Ryan Hawkins = [email protected] BPU+++++
Rick = [email protected] BPU
Mike Louie = [email protected] BPU
Mark C. = [email protected] BPU+

Id also like to know this (bump)... and what mods it takes to reach mid/low 11s... if thats common with the correct mods (No nitrous, and stock twins of course)... Cuz I wanna get the most out of my Auto as I can... I need a Gtech or something so I can get an idea of what I run.

What mods do you have now and have you been to the track to see what it runs?
I think I remember pooshda posting that the nearest track to him is 4 hrs away. That really sucks:( . Pooshda, what does your screenname mean, if u dont mind me askin? I also wanna know what it takes to run 11's with an auto.
I couldn't imagine a track 4hrs away...I have one track within 12 minutes and another one within 45 minutes. That really sucks...4hrs:eek:
I know its not the fastest!!! But I am close enough.. [email protected] w/ a 1.95 60' on SO-2's. All I need is DR's, and 11's here I come :p

DakaDan
I think w/ some slicks/Drag Radials I think I can get in the into the mid to low 11's.
in my opinion

I think the fastest stock automatic supra here in fl,is my friend rick on regular street tires he made a pass of 12.2 119mph yust with exaust,and downpipe ,no fuel manegament..

Mike Louie ran an 11.97 @ 121.5 in his old car w/ intake, exhaust, and DP on Nitto drag radials. Of course he was probably running over 23-25 #'s of boost (had a pulled Wastegate).

But if you notice, in my signature. My fastest time was 12.02 on street tires.

Thats an impressive time. With just pulling the hose off of the wastegate you will not run 23-25lbs of boost down the track...it is more like 19-20...I am going off of what MY car does. I have heard of people modifying the spring though and making more boost that way...not exactly sure how they do it though and exactly what boost levels they run after doing this.

With that trap speed it will be very difficult, I know a guy from Jersey who has gone 11.80's at straight BPU + cold air @ ~120. I think Mark C. from Jersey also went 11.70's or 80's at straight BPU before he went Single.

That's pretty fast...what do you think you would do with ET Streets?

Its hard to say, never tried it... With ET Streets, my car should pull a mid 11's. I know I am producing the power to to drop into the 11's. Maybe one day I'll try it.

I know that when I had ET Streets...w/o: Exhaust, Cam Gears, AFC tuning and VPC tuning my car did [email protected] @ 79 degrees...so I definately see 11's in your car with really good traction. That particular run was with a 1.71 60' time.
Either way...that was a really good time you ran with only street tires.:)

CANTDOITWITHLESSTHAN190CI ,

I don't think you fully understand how a wastegate works. The wastegate spring (or actuator can in this case) is part of the system that REDUCES BOOST pressure. By pulling the hose to the actuator can, you completely bypass the system which regulates boost, thereby letting the turbo boost as much as it can physically support. BTW, when I ran my [email protected], my boost gauge only went up to 20psi, but the needle went to about ~23psi or so (estimated)........ I had it pegged the during the entire run :eek: :eek: :eek: Also ran a [email protected] that day.

I run with a pulled hose off of the wastegate and my car runs between 19 and 20 lbs...I record all of my runs now that I have the DEFI gauges and the runs never go over 20lbs on the playback...and I know my boost gauge is not wrong because my other gagues that I used to have said that same thing. I guess the springs must be a little different in some of the wastegates.
Same here... if I bypass the VSV I generally get 18-20lbs through the higher gears, usually 15-17 through 1st though.. my boost guage isnt entirely accurate anymore though, it magically uncalibrated itself, im going with Defi soon... but all they seemt to have is a 25lb guage, I cant find anything higher for some reason... and I cant believe they wouldnt have something higher.

The weather coldn't have been better when Mike and made our runs. The temp dropped about 15 degrees to the high 50's about 30 min. before we made our runs. Still warm track and chilly intake temps made for 2 sick runs.

As far as my trap speed, it is low because I was only running 17psi and I have a stall convertor. I was running 117.5 traps in the mid 12's w/ stock tranny. More boost equals more MPH, and installing a lock-up switch should give me another 2-3mph by itself.

I am pretty proud to be able to make moderate launches and pull low 1.8sec 60' on street tires. With slicks or DR's I expect to be able launch very hard and hook up. and find my way to ~1.6 60' times and as we know every 10th in the '60 equals 2 10th's in the 1/4 as does every 100lbs less equals a 10th too. So I'm going take out my ~40lb. spare tire and that should theoretically put me in the 11's anyway.

But no one will really know until I get out to the track again.

What is a lock up switch? Is that an auto transmission term?

Well, this may make you a little happier...the DEFI gagues actually go to 28lbs. There is a big number 25 at the end but it has 3 little marks right after that.:)
Same for me in 1st gear also...I hit about 15-17 and then in 2nd I hit more of the 17lbs and 3rd is about 18-19lbs and 4th is about 19-20lbs.
