What I mean is, anyone here get a smokin deal on their MKIV because the previous owner didn't know what he/she had? Sometimes people who own these cars aren't enthusiasts and have no clue of their value. I've seen them sell at or just above book value sometimes. Of course, these cars don't remain on the market very long. I ask because a friend of mine just picked up a 95 TT, bone stock with 49k miles for 19 grand. He does roofing and noticed a MKIV in his customer's garage so he made an offer. Owner was in his late 60's, early 70's and said he was thinking about selling it anyway. Also, I had to pass up on a green 97 with 41k miles on it, clean title that was selling for $26k. I didn't have the funds available at that time :(

Needless to say, I paid alot for my 95 with 60k miles on it.

Bought my 68K mile 1994 MKIV TT in 2001 for $20K even.

Fresh red paint, tan interior, auto/targa, BPU'd, 18" wheels with Pirellis. The owner threw in black carpeting, too.
