How do you put gas in it? Seriously, if you extended out the rear fender, would you have to extend the fuel nozzle?

It depends how wide, but if you go TRD, it comes setup to use with the stock gas cap. And you can fill it up. If you decide to do a custom gas cap then you have to extend it. But if you do a custom gas cap you have to extend it either way.

Depends on the widebody kit, bodywork, and how wide you make the quarter panels. Some people even when they have a widebody can fit a regular fuel nozzle in the stock location without too much diffuculty. Others completely modify the stock fuel funnel leading to the gas tank by rewelding custom fabricated piping.

Or, you can do what I am going to do, and stick a piece of 6" PVC hosing on the gas lever and stick that in my stock gas tank for fueling. Not exactly the best method for fueling, but at the same time I don't feel like welding a new fuel system either. You just have to be careful not the overflow the tank, so your not going to be "topping off" anytime soon.

Total cost: $.75 plus a plastic ziplock bag to put the thing in so the interior doesn't smell like gas. Ghetto, your damn right. :p

i have the top secret wide body and the nozel goes right into the stock location. all the full service guys at the station dont know where it is at first and have to look inside to find it. kinda funny at first, now it getts annoing since it takes them forever.

Your crazy for letting the fuel guys fill your car for you, if you have a top secret wide body. Hell i wouldnt let them touch a stock body. Most of them guys are rough as hell, and dont care sine it isnt theirs.

yeah but it costs the same price as self serv :)

of the two widebodies i built - one we extended the fuel fill and one was fine.

it doesnt take much to extend though...

the part that makes it stop pumping gas is also the part making sure you dont get gas vapor up in your mug :) i'd rather weld up my car than be dizzy every time I got gas.

... its a law in NJ, that you cant pump your own gas!
Yup, NJ and Oregon are the only two states in the union who don't allow self serve. You feel kind of stupid when you go to another state where there is self serve, pull up the the pump and sit there for a few minutes waiting for the "petroleum transfer technician" to come out and give you gas until realize . On the flip side I've seen arguements between said technician and outta staters who start pumping their own and then told that they can't do that :anger:.
