Okay. So i have a stock 87 turbo. I was looking to get a new exhaust and a wideband air fuel gauge. What do you guys recommend? I remember reading somewhere that the wideband should be mounted 3' from the turbo is that true? Or can i just get the turbo elbow with the bung opening for it? I want to turn up the boost a little more than stock. Maybe 9-10 psi but i want to keep and eye on my running conditions. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I have ran the AEM and the Innovate lm1 lc1 lc2 both perform about the same both read about the same as my dynojet wideband. But it is recomended to mount them further back on both units to keep excess heat from burning them up. I have mounted right behind the turbo with near the stock o2 the only big issue i have is i have to get a new sensor is every 6 months or so they are like 32$ and usually have a one year warranty so u buy one. I have also mounted them close and had no issues for yrs so i dont know what that is all about but i know for a fact race gas will eat one up in a hurry.

It is recommended that they be mounted 18 - 36 inches away from the turbo, but they work fine closer........and you'll more than likely have to replace the sensor as mentioned by Mr. Stinger. Mine is located about a foot from the turbo and I run about 25psi and it seems that my sensors last about six to nine months also.

Yesss, race gas or e85 will shorten the life of the sensor.
