yeah my question is if you have a 154 why not just put that in? unless it doesnt have a bellhousing in which you asked will the 58 bellhousing work on the 154 tranny. and we said no....

so unless you got your wording mixed up and you meant will the 154 bolt up to a ge engine block...in which case the answer is yes....then it sounds like you need a 154 bellhousing so you can hook it up to replace the 58.

you need the bellhousing and clutch/flywheel from whatever transmission you want to run but it works fine. I have a 7m-gte with a W-58 tranny, bellhousing, and clutch/flywheel and have been running it for three years with no problems, although keep in mind that the stock W-58 clutch is not as strong as the R-154 so if you have ANY mods it will slip (I'm running a spec stage 3 on it now and it holds just fine)
