I have an auto BPU 2800 stall but it still starts to spin at 2400rpm and want it to get better 60 ft ers, so I was thinking of shortening the dif gears would the NA dif be a perfect swap for achieving this? cause I have read it's ratio is 4.272 compared to 3.769 for the TT
my time is 2.2 60ft with drag radials :(
12.6 @ 118mph

will it accelerate quicker?
will it be a straight fit?
can it handle the power?

or should I just get a bigger stall?

any help appreciated

Try jamming the brake really hard and pulling the e-brake too and then see when the tires want to spin. If you still can't build enough RPMs at the line like that just get a different converter. Don't go messing with the gearing when that isn't the problem.

Ok, don't listen to him. That is the stupidest thing you could do. Not only will you break your tranny but your car won't even build boost while its in neutral.

Make sure you have sticky tires and try to stall the car up like I was saying. If you still can't get the times you want you need a higher stall. Get something in the 3400-3800 range.

if your in an auto the best way imo is to get the rpms up in neutral and then put it in drive. its not the greatest thing on the tranny.. but it works
Please refrain from giving any advice whatsoever :uzi:

I agree with what veilside said. Go with a higher stall if you're not getting boost off the line. A 3800 worked great for me on stock twins as well as my sp67. BFG Drag radials are my DR's of choice.

I've been tryin different way of launching, on stock stall, and i've found a way that works for me. I can build really good boost this way too.

I jus mash the brakes and gas with the car in MANU mode and put it in second gear. Your RPM's should stayed pinned at 2800. Now the tires won't break loose at all if you have some decent tires no matter what, but once you let off the brakes and drop it into first it rockets off the line. My tires aren't all that great, (Kuhmo Ecsta Supra's) but when i do it, they spin through 1st gear most of the time.

I tried this with the TRAC fuse out but it's not possible cause it doesn't let you engage the MANU mode so the car is still in 1st gear.

The only thing I was wonderin is that if this would be bad for my tranny. I don't see why it would be, but hey, you never know.
