i have had my 1jz for about 8 years. same stock turbos not blown, same blitz exhaust, and intake. i just recently did a tune up with new plugs and oils and also added a 3' downpipe and eliminated the cat. since i installed the downpipe, it seems like when i try to floor it the car sputters. rather it be in 1st or 5th i get the sputter. can anyone let me know what is going on?

Gap your plugs closer homie. Trust me. Since you opened up your exhaust, you are probably boosting more than before and its blowing out your spark. Don't take my word for it, but I think the recommended gap is around 0.26-0.28. It is also possible that you are spiking hard and hitting boost cut.

It seems like you might be hitting boost cut. The same thing happened to me after i did a tune up one day.

i am running hks iridium plugs. they are brand new and from what the shop tells me i cannot gap them.

yeah, can't gap iridiums. Try copper plugs. Should be about $20 bucks. That should tell you if that's your issue or not.

don't run any plug except the cheapy ngk coppers...gapped to .028

bkr7e...that's the part number...or bkr6e if ur mostly stock
