Hey,

I just did a compression test and got the following!!!!!!!

1- 210
2- 210
3- 210
4- 210
5- 210
6- 210

I thought I'd share...

thats actually not as good as you think, it means that there is a lot of carbon buildup..... but hey, I'd rather have that than low numbers >

Higher compression = less boost = less power. You can only have so much cylinder pressure before you encounter detonation.

Those some high numbers. It is starnge that everyone cylinder is the same. That never happens.

I was joking, that's why there was so many exclamation points. The carbon itself contributes to pre-ignition and detonation too, not just the extra compression.

it might not be carbon though... the engine could of had a BHG and when they did it, they could of shaved off the head, and block... or done it twice and shaved the head twice, and then used a stock thickness gasket...

After i broke in my rebuild i got 165 - 170 across the board, but I have an admittedly crappy head / need a valve job.

Yeah, I'm sure it was not 210 exactly, I was using a dial type guage (normal ones) but they all ended up basically right on 210...the car is a non turbo from Japan (JDM, but I hate saying JDM)

I am turboing it soon and yeah, I can't push too much boost...

yea it would show low numbers if u had a BHG, like less then 140 is pretty shotty... i was just saying that his numbers could of been high because of previous BHG and then getting it redone and sahving the head/block plus using a oem thickness gasket.

Those are pretty much the same numbers i get on my 7m-ge... and theres no carbon, trust me, i just looked

sorry about my jumping to the conclusion that it was a turbo and I certainly didn't mean to sound like I was belittling a N/A, sometimes on the internet and in my haste I don't watch what I'm saying real close, cause those are great numbers! How many miles?
