Can anyone tell me what exactly is different when it comes to the frame of each vehicle? Obveously the frame on the targa supra needs to be stronger in certain area's....does anyone know WHAT exactly needs to change on a non targa supra if i wanted to MAKE it a targa, where would i have to strengthen the frame? Thanks!

ya, youd need an upper cage, its not worth all the work though, unless you planned on doing a full cage anyhow. PM "artbran" here on sf, he has a hard top that was converted into a targa and im sure he can give you any info that you need.

pretty sure you could trade that hardtop straight up to one of about 5000 targa owners :dunno:
all i can tell you is there is somewhere around 200lbs+ worth of extra metal in targa supras.
i cant even stand to drive around with a 50lb subwoofer box in my car.

So im getting a couple different answers here, i thought targa tops were more rare and desirable? But now im being told that hardtops are more rare? I also heard hardtops are better for racing (stability and weight) does it just come down to a personal prefferance? What would u guys think about installing an electric sunroof??? I have a body shop guy willing to do it, specialises in doing things like that. That way it can stay a hardtop but i can also have a sunroof, good idea? bad idea? Thanks for the input btw

^^ BAD IDEA! Why do you want to cut the top of the hardtop? Hardtops are more sought after than the targa because they only made limited quantities.

If you just got to have a hole in the top of your car trade it for a targa. Don't mess up a hardtop supra.

If its an NA hardtop its not the Rare one people are willing to pay extra for FYI. TT 6-Speeds are the rare Hardtops, just look in my sig or go here http://www.suprahardtopregistry.com/

are they rare just bcc thats how they were made and they have limited numbers? Mines a 94 tt hardtop 6 speed, but its a RIGHT HAND DRIVE. Not one of the american ones, so does that mean its an NA?

no no i was refering to the non turboed Supras, i didnt know it was right hand drive, do you live in Canada? That would explain the confusion. USDM TT Hardtops are rare, JDM TT Targas are rare, its always opposite, those sale figures were for USDM Supras.
