ok, here's my ordeal. I'm getting ready to start putting my mk3 back together after 2 years of it being down and not being able to afford fixing it. I'm currently running a ct26 with a 60-1 garrett wheel, full 3 inch turbo back exhaust, aftermarket fmic, 550cc injectors, 255 hp walboro fuel pump, ngk iridium vi plugs, ngk wires (don't know if it really makes all that much of a difference), hks fcd, and a hallman manual boost controller. want to boost her up to about 14-16 pounds of boost (already have the metal head gasket waiting to be installed). I'm looking for a computer that'll tune all that as that may be where I stop on performance on the car for a while. Just want something that'll keep her happy and properly tuned. some people I've already talked to said an apexi s-afc would work great for this setup. I'm just looking for suggestions and direction on which computer would be best for this setup. Thanks!

safc will work fine for you. you will need to tune on a dyno with a WB02

thank you sir...had an safc in the car at one time, but had a local shop tune it and after about $180 worth of tuning labor, they told me they really couldn't tune it. so I pulled it...then the motor blew :(

yea...well that same shop installed the safc, they were kinda cheap about it too...overall costs were about 300 just for them to say it couldn't be properly tuned...but I guess they did something right for the motor to start having problems after I took it out..

If you have the money, I think you should go with an HKS F-CON V-Pro stand alone, theres many certified tuners out there for it, i dont think they have an engine specific harness for your car, but you can order a universal harness from HKS and they will direct you to a local certified shop that will wire it in and program it for you, I feel next to Mine's Motorsports ECUs, HKS is overall the best

wish mines would've made an ecu for the ma70's and not just the jza70's....the car isn't currently running due to need of a motor replacement. but I've already bought the afc, but will keep the hks f-con v-pro in mind for later tuning needs :)

they did make one for the 7m. superchips also did and then theres techtom (YMMV) and the Reg Reimer mods. all are rare as hell and almost never come with documentation for exactly what was done to it. the fcon v-pro isnt made specifically for the MA70 so good luck with that.

Emanage blue is like a really fancy SAFC with a higher tuning resolution and a few other features. If I was tuning something basic like his setup, I'd go emanage blue hands down. Emanage ultimate seems to have issues with the software.

Hey all, i'm kinda in the same situation with my 1jz. I am running for the most part stock but i wanna up the boost a little(maybe 12-14 lb) now what would be the best route to take in terms of keeping costs low but still being able to effectively tune the car and up the boost. What boost controller is cheap and reliable and should i use an safc or just an fcd. And what are good types for those as well? Also what aftermarket parts would be recommended for this kind of boost increase over stock. Should i get a full intake, exhaust, and fmic? After market wastegate and BOV as well?
