This just started, in fact it's been parked for over a week due to me not wanting to take it anywhere just in case it's something bad.

Water pump? Power Steering? Fan? Pulley? Note that the sound went away for just a bit around halfway through the video. Also note that it wasn't THAT loud, as loud as it sounds through the video, something to do with my shitty phone making it sound louder. In real life I could hear the exhaust much louder than the abnormal noise.
Also, after filming that, I then went for a short test drive (needed to pick up some pizza and wings, mmmm), and the sound, at some point prior to reaching my destination about a mile away, disappeared. Seemed odd to me.

I used a hollow plastic tube to try to listen to specific parts and see if it was coming from there, however that didn't work at all. Guess I need a hose or an actual automotive stethoscope.

Cannot access youtube at work, but is it making a knocking like noise? If so, it is most likely the belt tensioner. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt!

Ive had to rebuild my belt tensioner pulley. I went with a metal set-up versus a plastic one. the plastic pulley shot and so were the bearings. I also had to swap out the harmonic balancer because it was coming apart. Be sure to look at these closely.

To follow up with my other suggestion. Yes, metal to metal or bearings going out which would cause an angular pull on one or more of the pulleys could cause the sound as well. I would take the fan off, then listen for the sound. With the fan off you can put your face closer to the engine and not worry about being smacked in the face. Also, the fan causes alot of noise that can mask the source of the sound.

Wow, thanks for the response.

I've driven it some more, and the noise has disappeared. Of course that doesn't mean it's gone, so, seeing Supratwins post, I went out and looked at that pulley.

The accessory belt is hanging off of that pulley just a few mm's or so, towards the back of the engine bay. I'm guessing that isn't normal. The belt is fairly tight however. The belt is VERY close to touching the engine itself due to this as well... maybe the sound was because the belt actually was rubbing against the metal?

Chase, that sounds good. PM sent.

Ninja edit: Fuck that picture is huge! resizing!

Yep, same chatter from my belt tensioner. You can take a screw-driver and press against it while the engine is running. (BE CAREFUL!!!) There is a good thread that explains how to replace the bearings in the pulley tensioner. It's a cheap fix. You should be able to find the thread with a quick search.
