Wondering if automatic transmission can be competitively drifted, for example 2JZ twin turbo powered GS Lexus with MKIV automatic tranny??? Thoughts?

locally in amature events? I suspect if the driver is good, it could be done. That is a heavy ass car to be tossing around tho...

yes it can... if its built correctly and if you have a good driver...
Werd. I saw him at Drift Atlanta, and it was awesome to say the least, not to mention that he's probably fighting odd weight distribution in that El Camino.bikiniracer said:Yes, it can be done and at the professional level. Check out www.bubbadrift.com - a friend of mine who just starting drifting this year and has made the Top 16 and Top 8 at Formula D twice out of 3 events. "One more time" with Rhys Millen at Wahl, NJ and "one more time" with I forget who at Houston Formula D.

learn to read the entire thread. the bubba drift hellcamino was auto at one point and so are several other d1 cars.turboracer1 said:its possible but yeah not in competition level.

IIRC, the El Camino is still an auto.1SlowDSM said:the bubba drift hellcamino was auto at one point and so are several other d1 cars.
:bigthumb: wow that is clean set up.streetracing901 said:Not sure if its an auto. but interesting none the least. btw 938hp! If you take your car to Ueno's shop and it takes longer than a day to do the work they will loan you that very car.. its cage cost a nice 50,000 dollar penny and is completely built from the gorund up! its a truely amazing car
