I recently won an auction for an Alternator on Ebay for $25, anyway, he emailed me saying the shipping would be $35 USD from Miami to BC - wtf?

I did some online quotes at Canada Post, USPS, and UPS and everything is coming to around $20 CDN for a 10lb package.

How much does an alternator weigh? I'm figuring 10-15lbs max, but I could be wrong. Anyone know for sure?

Thanks.

15 pounds is usually the most they'll weigh unless it's a light
weight alternator.

the ones i've priced weigh around 12-15 pounds.

Find out what method he's shipping; $35 for shipping is redicilous
unless it's overnight or 2nd day.

hehe damn he's ripping you off..i don't think something that small is gonna cost him that much for shipping..i shipped a turbo to canada once and it was only $15..the turbo weighted 25 pounds somewhere around there..

well...i have an alternator and a ct-26 right here...and id say that the alternator is between 15-17lbs....they are small but do have some weight to them. id say the turbo is about 30 with the hoses still attached to it.
