This is actually for my lil bro. We have been looking used cars, and quite a few of them have over 100k miles. Specifically there is a IS300 that he wants but BECU wont do it, and chase and wells fargo online both say they have to be less milage than that. WTF ?
How are people buying all these cars that have over 100k miles ? Not everyone pays cash for vechicles that have over 100k do they ?

My credit union (WSECU) has never cared about the mileage on any cars I've borrowed money for. The silver 1994 hardtop I owned several years ago came with about 109k miles on it at the time I purchased it.

welcome to our lovely economy and the new restrictions on lending. Its a whole new game out there with new rules. Steve bought his car "several years ago" so he might have been able to get around it. Now days. G'luck.

Dick...

Mileage didn't seem to affect USAA's ability to give me a loan for my '94 TT in DEC'08. Check around some more. The interest rate may suck though.

I paid: cash down payment, credit card, and car loan to get mine. However, I had 2 other cars I unloaded that enabled me to pay off my credit card in one month, and recoup 70% of the cash down payment I made.

most credit unions will help you out with this type of loan

My bro ended up picking up a 01' IS3 at Chaplins for $8,800 with 104k miles.
They were asking 11,800.
Financing took 5minutes. Dealerships always have a way...

When you go to buy a car, a lot of dealers want you to buy on your first visit. This prevents you from checking the prices everywhere else. Luckily, a site I came across can help you compare costs and do your research before going to the car dealership. You even can get pre-approved on an auto loan before you head out. Your search is over, everything that you need is at CarDealExpert.com!
