Hey guys

My starter motor is fried , I need to remove it to get it replaced/reconditioned tomorrow. Weather is pretty bad here atm so chance is Il have to attack this in the rain where it stands(no space to park undercover...plus it idles so low when im not revving that it cuts out...which would be manageable if I could start my car in the first place). Need to get my starter out and to my mechanic to repair.

Still a noob ,so question is , how hard would it be to get to the starter motor , is it simple to remove? Anything I should look out for? Checked the TSRM but only shows how to disassemble ,repair and assemble the starter motor.

Id usually just jack the car up and figure it out myself, but its pouring , car isn't drivable enough to get it undercover and I just want to get in there , get the starter motor and get out as quick as I can.

Degrees whats up, we need more people like him. haters gonna hate.. @ jzamerican. you are so wrong lol just get a foot long extension and get under the tranny with a swivel and 17. you can get both out. a 2 foot helps for the top bolt.

If you remove the trans dipstick tube it makes access much easier. If it is 86.5-90 you will need wrench to hold the nut on the other side as well, if it is 91-92 the starter itself has threads so there is no nut on the other side, meaning no wrench is required. You will need to remove the 12mm nut holding the terminal wire on, and there is also a thin gauge trigger wire that clips in.

How can there be a "wrong way" to take out 2 bolts and remove starter. No matter how the bolts come out they are still out.
Personally put the car up on my lift and tell my son to replace it.
You won't find those instructions anywhere
