I was wondering what is a better way to go? I bought a 2jz that came with the hydro pump and didnt realize this until i took the pump apart i bought a mechanical replacement. Is this alright or should i stick with the hydro pump and route the pump so that it recirculates the oil inside itself? thanks for any info.

Its just like the 1JZ, they came in both mechanical and hydro pump setups. The aristo had hydro pumps and you can use a JZA70 hydro fan with the aristo setup. You can also use a 7MGE power steering resivoir for the hydro pump resivoir.

I have always liked the hydro fan and it pulls alot more air then the clutch fans =D

Bumping an ancient thread.

If I get the 1J that has the clutch fan, could I just unbold the fan, & leave the pulley on & be fine? My plan is to run dual 12" electric fans w/ a thicker aftermarket radiator.
